More than 1,600 secondary students will converge on Sydney International Equestrian Centre on Wednesday 3rd June 2026.

  • Date: The Sydney Catholic Schools Cross Country Championship held on Wednesday 3rd June 2025 (Term 2, Week 7)
  • Venue: Sydney International Equestrian Centre (Saxony Rd, Horsley Park NSW 2175)
  • Time:
    • Venue Opens: 8:00AM
    • Walk the Course Opens: 8:30AM
    • Walk the Course Closes: 8:40AM
    • Opening Ceremony: 9:15AM
    • First Event Marshalled: 9:20AM
    • First Event Starts: 9:40AM
    • Last Event Starts: 2:00PM

  • Events will be held in the sequence indicated in the program however, the Convener may vary this if necessary.
  • Two (2) marshalling calls will be announced for each event. Individual competitors will not be called.
  • Competitors not present at the marshalling area at the correct time may be disqualified.
  • The times on the event order are a guide only and the Convenor reserves the right to alter the program of events without prior notification.
  • Students must be at the venue 60mins before their race time.

  • Students wear their school sports or School Representative uniform  and must have appropriate footwear and hats.
  • Shoes must be worn by all competitors.
  • Spiked Footwear is not permitted due to safety reasons related to a pack start.
  • Due to the weather predicted, students are enocuraged to bring a wet weather equipment and spare clothes to change into.
  • All students are required to compete with an electronic running bib
  • Students are allocated a unique number
  • The bib has an electronic chip which identifies students as they cross the finish line
  • The bib can be kept as a memento after the event
  • Food Truck and Outlets will be open and available to purchase food and drinks
  • All students are required to complete with an electronic running bib.
  • No pushing, tripping or interference with other competitors is allowed.
  • Parents and spectators are not allowed within the running track boundary.
  • Starting commands shall be: “On Your Marks” followed by firing of a gun. A second firing shall indicate recall.
  • During the race, competitors racing are the only individuals to be on the course. Parents and spectators are not to be on the course.
  • Student warm up before the start of each event is recommended.
  • A designated warm up area has been allocated for schools to use.
  • Awards
    • Medals will be awarded to the overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place-getters in each event and well as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place-getters in their respective conferences.
  • Progressions
    • The top 12 runners from each event overall will represent Sydney Catholic Schools at the NSWCCC Cross Country Championship.
  • Multi Class selections
    • Athletes in Multi Class events are based on criteria set by MacKillop e.g. 3 athletes per event
