Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) and Golf NSW have partnered to conduct this exciting two day camp opportunity. 

 It will kickstart or further an individual’s love of golf and will provide further opportunities in the sport.

What is Golf

Golf is a game in which a player uses special clubs to attempt to sink a ball with as few strokes as possible into each of the 9 or 18 successive holes on a course

Why  Golf

Golf teaches essential movement skills, the golf swing, and target alignment, while emphasising power generation, ball flight, and trajectory through interactive games. It also fosters qualities such as control, focus, concentration, and teamwork

Olympics

Golf is an Olympic sport. By providing this opportunity, students may grow a love for the game and pursue further representation

Partnership

Golf NSW is the peak representative body for golf in New South Wales. Through this partnership studnets are provided  additional opportunities in schools, Jack Newton Junior Golf, and local clubs.

Term 3 – October Holiday Camp

Sydney Catholic Schools in partnership with Golf NSW and Jack Newton Junior Golf are providing an opportunity for students to participate in a two-day Golf camp. The aim of the camps is to kickstart or further an individual’s love of golf and will provide further opportunities in the sport.

Students will be divided into the following groups on both days

  • New golfer – little or no experience
  • Tried golf – had experience on Mini Golf or Driving Range, maybe tried a golf course
  • Intermediate – Played a few holes or 9 before but not at a golf club regularly
  • Player – plays at a golf club, maybe a member, looking to improve (technology use)

What to Expect

Students have the opportunity to participate in holiday camps in  April, July and October which may lead into a golf tournament in the December school holidays

Students can attend attend either the first day or both days of the camp. Please register individually for each camp. Students doing both camps will be catered for by Golf NSW coaches ensuring the student will develop their golf skills over both days.

During the program, your child will:

Day 1 : 

  • Sessions and skill set-up to reflect the student’s skills.
  • Play some holes in the afternoon

Day 2 : 

  • Play Golf
  • Scoring
  • Targets of achievement

Dates – Thursday 10 October AND / OR Friday 11 October 2024

Venue – Fairfield Golf Course

Age criteria – Students from grades 3 – 8 

Cost $70 (1 Day) $140 (2 Days)

Ability and experience level – The Golf Camp is open to students enrolled in Sydney Catholic School or an affiliated congregational school to the SCS Sport program. 

Equipment – All equipment is provided however students  are permitted to bring their own golf clubs.
