What is Badminton

Badminton is a racket sport whose exact origins are still a mystery. Players use a shuttlecock during a rally, with the aim of trying to land it on the surface of their opponents’ court or forcing their opponents to make an error

Why Badminton

Badminton improves muscle strength, heart functioning and helps to reduce stress. It also improves flexibility, boosts metabolism and strengthens bones. It is also vital in improving mental agility

Olympic Sport

Badminton made its Olympic debut as a demonstration sport at the 1972 Games in Munich, and was included as an exhibition sport at the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games; four years later badminton became an official part of the Olympic program at the 1992 Games

Sydney Catholic Schools in partnership with StarsTV are providing an opportunity for students to participate in aBadminton camp. The aim of the camps is to kickstart or further an individual’s love of badminton and will provide further opportunities in the sport.

What to Expect

The holiday camps are the ultimate blend of fun and learning, offering action-packed days filled with thrilling activities and dynamic techniques. This camp guarantees an unforgettable experience for all participants.

Over the course of the camp participants will learn Badminton Skills with racquet and shuttle equipment

Age criteria – Students from grades 4 – 9

Cost $70

Ability and experience level – The Badminton Camp is open to students enrolled in Sydney Catholic School or an affiliated congregational school to the SCS Sport program.

Equipment – All equipment is provided however students are permitted to bring their own racquets
