Sydney Catholic Schools in partnership with Cricket NSW provides an opportunity for students to participate in a cricket training camp.

What is Cricket

Cricket is a bat-and-ball team sport where the batting side tries to score as many runs as possible while the bowling side attempts to get batters out, also known as taking wickets, and restrict the flow or runs.

Why Cricket

To play cricket you need to be fit and strong, and have good hand-eye coordination and ball-handling skills. Cricket involves sprinting and running, as well as bowling and throwing. Health benefits include: endurance and stamina, balance and coordination, physical fitness and improves hand-eye coordinaton

Fun Fact

Cricket actually began in 16th century England when children used to play it on the streets. Originally, cricket wickets had two stumps and only one bail

Holiday Training Camp

SCS has a partnership with Cricket NSW to facilitate a Cricket Training Camp during the upcoming holiday period. The target group are students from school grades 7 to 8.

What to Expect

The training camps are the ultimate blend of fun and learning, offering action-packed days filled with thrilling activities and dynamic techniques.

This camp will focus on:

  • Holistic cricket development of players over 4 planned talent camps
  • Technical correction
  • Skill development
  • Tactical understanding
  • Mental application

Venue – Gannons Park – Peakhurst

Age criteria – Secondary students Year 7 and 8

Ability and experience level – Students need to have expericed at least 1 full year at club level 

Equipment – Own cricket kit is required
